ABOUT US:

The Ontario Stockyards is a full service livestock marketing centre. Our establishment features sales three days a week with additional special all-vaccinated and bred cow sales at certain times of the year. We can arrange trucking from all corners of the country and are ATQ compliant. Our staffed is backed by decades of experience and look forward to serving you for all of your livestock marketing needs.

FACILITY:

Our very modern facility was built in 1994. We have room to house approximately 2000 head of cattle or 6000 head of sheep, lamb and goats on feed and water. We have additional pen space to accommodate approximately 1000 head of cattle or 2000 head of sheep, lamb and goats on dry dock pens. Our pens are large, spacious and with excellent air quality.

Our two auction rings include side scales and ring scales which are government inspected to ensure total accuracy when marketing your livestock. Our auction rings are big, bright and modern to allow the livestock to fully present themselves to some of Canada’s most competitive buyers.

We are totally ATQ compliant and equipped with both panel and wand RFID tag readers to minimize any stress on the livestock. Our modern computer system allows for easy, efficient and reliable submission of tag information to ATQ.

LOCATION:

We are located at 3807 Highway 89, Cookstown, Ontario. Our facility is very easy to get to as it is only half of a kilometre west of the Highway 400!
